Position Summary:

This role is essential to the Children's Ski and Ride School experience. You will assist in getting children ready for their snow adventures, ensuring they are well-fed during breaks, and creating memorable moments when they are not on the slopes. This position is ideal for those looking to gain experience toward an instructor role or for individuals who wish to work with children in a lively setting without the need to ski or snowboard.

Position Specifications:

  • Expected Pay Range: $21.36 / hour
  • Availability: Full Time and Part Time
  • Skill Level: Entry

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety of yourself and guests at all times.
  • Deliver outstanding guest service, showcasing your enthusiasm for working with children.
  • Support the operational aspects of Ski & Ride School programs, including food preparation, registration, directing guests, and maintaining cleanliness in teaching areas.
  • Provide an enjoyable experience for guests of all ages.
  • Prepare snacks and meals for children participating in the Ski and Ride School.
  • Assist children with dietary restrictions and special needs.
  • Support children who may be tired, unwell, or reluctant to participate.
  • Communicate with guardians regarding their child's status.
  • Help guests and staff navigate procedures while organizing children.
  • Ensure guests are properly equipped and collaborate with instructors and supervisors for necessary adjustments.
  • Supervise children during lessons and within the children's center.
  • Facilitate child security and ensure safe return to guardians.
  • Maintain effective communication with fellow attendants and instructors.
  • Coordinate with instructors to manage snack and meal timings.
  • Prepare age-appropriate meals for children aged 3 to 13, considering allergies and special needs.
  • Collaborate with management to develop weekly and monthly meal plans and order supplies.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the refrigerator.
  • Conduct daily cleaning of windows, doors, walls, and public areas.
  • Ensure restrooms are clean and sanitary.
  • Clean hard floor areas thoroughly.
  • Dust and polish furniture and fixtures.
  • Vacuum designated areas as needed.
  • Assist in moving furniture as required.
  • Restock necessary amenities in the children's center and restrooms.
  • Be prepared to perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Job Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Willingness to attend all required training sessions.
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written).
  • CA food handler certificate (can be obtained post-hire).
  • Strong guest service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Successful completion of a Criminal Background Check.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions in a mountainous setting.
  • Good sight, speech, and hearing abilities for effective communication.
  • Willingness to assist children as needed.
  • Availability to work on weekends and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Early Childhood Education or Children's Food Programs.
  • Background in teaching, coaching, or mentoring.
  • Experience in a guest service role with diverse age groups.
  • Prior kitchen or food preparation experience.
  • ServSafe Food Handlers Certificate (assistance available).
  • Able to stand for extended periods (over 2 hours).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish (optional).

The expected pay range is $21.36. This reflects the compensation we anticipate for this position, influenced by various factors.
