Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate the activities of all electrical personnel and contractors to ensure compliance with safety protocols and industry standards.
  • Manage contractor relationships to ensure timely completion of electrical projects while adhering to budgetary constraints.
  • Promote a proactive approach to electrical maintenance, focusing on predictive and preventive strategies.
  • Identify and recommend solutions for electrical and instrumentation reliability challenges, working with relevant teams to implement these solutions.
  • Supervise the installation and testing of electrical systems and instrumentation.
  • Coordinate repair efforts during outages to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
  • Engage with corporate engineering teams to support site initiatives and upgrades.
  • Play a pivotal role in launching a pilot condition monitoring program and an enhanced Maintenance Management system.
  • Implement safety programs to ensure the well-being of all team members, ensuring adequate training is provided and documented.
  • Mentor and develop the electrical team, providing constructive feedback and fostering accountability for quality and safety.
  • Facilitate technical training for staff and coordinate external training opportunities as needed.
  • Maintain open communication with production and maintenance teams to ensure the safe execution of planned electrical work.
  • Keep accurate records as mandated by regulations, including training and inspection documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant electrical codes and standards.
  • Administer work rules and safety regulations fairly across the team.
  • Conduct safety inspections of work areas, addressing any hazards promptly.
  • Manage overtime scheduling to address staffing needs and communicate any impacts to operations.
