The Marlin Alliance, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Network and Computer Systems Administrator to join our team in San Diego, CA.

This individual will be responsible for overseeing the administration, maintenance, and security of our computer systems, networks, and related infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in system administration, network management, and security, with a proven track record of designing, developing, and implementing solutions to support business objectives.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Administering and maintaining servers, including server hardware, operating systems, and software applications.
  • Managing and configuring network infrastructure components, such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Implementing and enforcing security measures, including access controls, user authentication, and data protection protocols.
  • Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues related to networks, servers, and applications.
  • Developing and maintaining documentation, policies, and procedures for system administration and network operations.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of systems and applications.
  • Providing technical support and guidance to end-users on system-related issues.
  • Staying up-to-date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in system administration and network management.

Requirements include:

  • A four-year or higher degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in a related information technology (IT) role, with a strong focus on system administration and network management.
  • Proven experience in administering servers, controlling user access, and managing interfaces.
  • In-depth knowledge of server operating systems (e.g., Windows Server, Linux).
  • Proficient in network protocols, technologies, and security practices.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for automation tasks.
  • Familiarity with IT service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL).
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSE, CCNA, CISSP).
