About the Role:

  • Monitor, configure, and troubleshoot network infrastructure, including switches, firewalls, and VPN appliances.
  • Use network diagnostic tools to identify and resolve issues.
  • Ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of network infrastructure and network-related applications.
  • Participate in incident response and root-cause analysis, and support a blameless post-mortems culture.
  • Document root-cause analysis and offer solutions to prevent future network outages.
  • Commission and decommission infrastructure as needed.
  • Identify and suggest network designs that enable consistent client network workflow.
  • Maintain current customer network documentation, including outages, changes, and best practices.
  • Automate repetitive tasks to eliminate toil and drive consistency and repeatability.
  • Develop tools and services to automate the mitigation and remediation of network-specific events.
  • Participate in creating customized network management tools to evaluate, monitor, and report network statistics.
  • Design, write, and deliver Infrastructure as Code software to improve network availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • Ability to obtain CompTIA S Certification within 2 months of hire.
  • Good understanding of TCP/IP model, Open Networking standards, Jun OS, and Cisco IOS.
  • Significant experience with network diagnostic tools, such as tcpdump and wireshark.
  • Experience with Jun OS for switches and firewalls.
  • Familiarity with Pulse Secure VPN.
  • Understanding of network security design and implementation.
  • Understanding of complex networking models utilizing L2 and L3 protocols.
  • Knowledge of spanning tree protocol, BGP, LACP, VLAN, and MC-LAG.
  • Basic understanding of scripting and software development packages for Infrastructure as Code.
  • Working knowledge of one or more of the following languages: Ansible, Python.
  • Ability to automate menial tasks.
  • Understanding of diagram drawing tools, such as Visio, Lucid Charts, and Gliffy.
  • Able to document root-cause analysis and offer solutions to prevent future network outages.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of work experience or equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to obtain Top Secret Clearance.
  • Active CompTIA S Certification.

Salary Range: $89,650 - $152,460
