Job Overview

As a Logistics Manager at ABS Fuel Systems, you will oversee the organization's logistics day-to-day operations, ensuring the efficient delivery of fuel and management of inventory at bulk, company-owned retail, and dealer-operated locations.

This role involves supervising a team of Logistics Coordinators and Transport Drivers, with a focus on maximizing efficiency and revenue while adhering to DOT regulations.

The Logistics Manager will also play a crucial role in shaping the company's future growth strategy, requiring strong strategic planning and implementation skills.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Oversee and manage Logistics Coordinators' operations, ensuring optimal scheduling of fuel deliveries and monitoring fuel inventory levels.
  2. Supervise work schedules for company transport drivers to maximize truck revenue and provide support to the driver team.
  3. Manage and track company trucks and trailers, working with the Maintenance team to direct drivers for scheduled and emergency maintenance.
  4. Ensure compliance with all local and federal regulations, policies, and procedures related to logistics operations.
  5. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to resolve issues and improve overall service.
  6. Make informed, safety-conscious decisions under pressure, adjusting plans based on changing demands and market trends.
  7. Foster strong relationships with customers and drivers to facilitate cooperation and improve delivery service.
  8. Perform on-site driver observations and ride-along observations with each driver.
  9. Oversee the Dispatch team to monitor inventory levels, build loads, route drivers, and monitor terminal allocations.
  10. Monitor Safety performance of the fleet in Samsara and work with the Safety Team to manage driver hours of service, safety alerts, and moving violations.
  11. Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies for future growth and expansion.

Requirements

  1. Degree in business, logistics, supply chain management, or relevant work experience.
  2. Proven experience in logistics, dispatching, or managing a team of over 25 employees.
  3. Ability to multi-task and make quick decisions under pressure.
  4. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other relevant dispatching and telematic software.
  5. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team or individually.
  6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  7. Proven strategic planning and implementation skills.
  8. Understanding of industry regulations and commitment to ensuring company compliance.
