Responsibilities


As a Quality Assurance Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for designing, organizing, coordinating, and implementing the Risk Management Program aimed at safeguarding the organization’s human, physical, and financial assets.

Your role will involve active participation in performance improvement initiatives, data collection, and activities that foster an integrated program ensuring the highest quality of healthcare delivery.

You will collaborate with safety and security personnel and engage in risk-related activities, assisting with claims investigation, management, and litigation processes. Additionally, you will facilitate the reporting of safety data and events.

Your responsibilities will also include evaluating risk management programs through data capture, follow-up, and trend analysis, presenting findings to relevant committees.

Moreover, you will assist in developing and implementing policies, procedures, and educational initiatives aimed at risk reduction and elimination throughout the organization.

Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team will be essential for identifying and resolving issues, addressing cost containment, and implementing new services and performance measures.


Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing or a related healthcare field is preferred.
  • Certification as a Fellow or Diplomat of the American Society of Healthcare Risk Managers, Associate in Risk Management (ARM), or Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) is preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of clinical and/or management experience in a multidisciplinary healthcare setting, including at least two years of inpatient experience, is preferred.
  • Experience in risk management and/or professional liability claims management is preferred.
  • Knowledge of current State Laws and Regulations applicable to healthcare facilities is essential.
