Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Labor and Delivery team at Mission Regional Medical Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and support to new mothers and their babies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver safe and effective patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice, including administering medications, performing medical procedures, and monitoring patient vital signs.
  • Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the Birthplace.
  • Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment, ensuring a safe environment for patients and visitors.
  • Utilize the chain of command when necessary to ensure patient well-being and appropriateness of care to newborns and mothers during the antepartum and postpartum periods.
Requirements
  • Current and valid state RN License.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred.
  • BLS certification within 30 days and maintain current.
  • ACLS certification within 90 days and maintain current.
  • NRP certification within 90 days and maintain current.
  • Basic Fetal monitoring within 60 days of hire and maintain current.
  • AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certificate within 12 months.
  • AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring certificate preferred.
  • STABLE preferred.
