Job Description

The Midtown Group is seeking a skilled Computer Systems Specialist to join our team in Washington DC.

This role involves managing and operating computer systems, resolving hardware and software issues, and monitoring networked systems for security problems.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Managing and operating computer systems, including resolving hardware and software issues.
  2. Monitoring networked systems for security problems and investigating causes of any suspicious activity identified.
  3. Serving as the initial point of contact for staff experiencing computer problems or in need of additional technology resources.
  4. Performing the Game Closing and IT draw operations, verifying closing of lottery games, and updating winning numbers to website and phone line.
  5. Processing and balancing Internal Control System (ICS) financial reports against Back-Office System (BOS) reports.
  6. Monitoring ICS and BOS performance during data entry and reporting any anomalies noted.
  7. Updating Multistate Lottery Association (MUSL) and Draw Reporting Systems with sales and winning numbers for multistate lottery games.
  8. Assisting Information Technology staff in providing basic computer and systems support to Gaming Systems vendor.
  9. Executing and monitoring daily Data Warehousing program.
  10. Conducting preliminary IT inquiries and issue tracking for users.
  11. Maintaining asset inventory for Lottery IT department.
  12. Assisting the IT Specialist in installing and configuring computer software, installing computer hardware peripherals, and providing assistance to QA groups in UAT testing.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma
  • Extensive knowledge of computer operating systems, Microsoft Office, and network file systems.
  • Ability to maintain accuracy in performing repetitive work where speed and accuracy are of importance.
  • Experience in Information Technology environment on Microsoft Windows environment.
  • Knowledge necessary to diagnose and solve simple computer system problems.
