POSITION OVERVIEW

The Service Engineer is tasked with the installation, routine maintenance, and comprehensive support of medical instruments at client locations. This role also encompasses delivering product and technical assistance both onsite and remotely, while ensuring meticulous documentation of services performed. Anticipate significant travel (approximately 75%), including weekends.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute product installation and removal at client facilities.
  • Diagnose, service, repair, and provide outstanding support for products at customer sites.
  • Plan and carry out preventative maintenance (PM) of products at client locations as necessary.
  • Oversee and maintain inventory, company tools, and documentation essential for service-related tasks.
  • Keep accurate and current records of services delivered.
  • Act as a point of contact between the organization and clients regarding product quality and performance.
  • Employ critical thinking skills to evaluate performance and risks associated with installed medical devices.
  • Assist Clinical Account Managers in the field as required.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing and Engineering teams between service calls to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.
  • Uphold a high standard of quality in all work performed.
  • Exhibit mutual respect, effective communication, and a positive attitude with both internal colleagues and clients.
  • Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time, including potential weekend travel.
  • Develop and revise service process documentation, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Identify equipment requirements in the field and assess internal and external sourcing options.
  • When necessary, engage in production tasks, including electrical and mechanical assembly and testing per approved manufacturing instructions.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics, or related fields.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in the medical device field service sector.
  • Preferred experience in collaborating with medical professionals and troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Experience in a medical facility is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated success in working with electromedical equipment, with the ability to quickly diagnose technical issues and determine appropriate solutions under pressure.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of producing accurate reports and sharing information effectively.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Detail-oriented, committed to high-quality standards, and proactive in problem-solving to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Ability to lift/push/pull equipment not exceeding 50lbs, or heavier items with assistance.
  • Willingness to travel internationally, including to Europe and other regions.
  • Possession of a valid passport and vaccination records for entry into various countries and medical facilities.
