Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Field Service Engineer to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a key member of our Electron Microscopy Systems team, you will be responsible for installing, servicing, and repairing complex electron microscopy systems at customer sites.

Your primary focus will be on ensuring the optimal performance of our systems, troubleshooting issues, and providing exceptional customer service. You will work closely with our customers, application engineers, and internal teams to resolve technical issues and provide training on system operation.

To succeed in this role, you will need to have a strong background in electronics, physics, or a related field, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in operating, troubleshooting, and repairing complex analysis tools. You must also be able to read and interpret schematics, and have excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

In addition to your technical expertise, you will need to be able to work effectively in a team environment, prioritize tasks, and manage your time efficiently. You will also need to be able to travel up to 50% of the time, sometimes on short notice, to customer sites to resolve problems or support colleagues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, service, and repair complex electron microscopy systems at customer sites
  • Troubleshoot issues and provide technical support to customers and internal teams

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in electronics, physics, or a related field
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in operating, troubleshooting, and repairing complex analysis tools
  • Strong background in electronics, physics, or a related field
