Job Overview:

We are in search of a dedicated, experienced, and detail-oriented Senior Field Safety Representative to become a vital part of our dynamic team.

This role is essential in ensuring that our construction operations adhere strictly to safety standards and regulations.

The ideal candidate will possess a thorough understanding of Cal-OSHA, OSHA, and DOT regulations, along with a solid background in construction safety practices.

This position involves significant fieldwork, including conducting inspections, investigating incidents, and implementing proactive safety measures.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Perform regular safety inspections on-site to ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations, including Cal-OSHA, OSHA, and DOT.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) in line with regulatory standards.
  • Train and mentor site personnel on safety protocols, practices, and procedures to cultivate a culture of safety awareness and compliance.
  • Act as the primary contact for all safety-related issues, liaising with regulatory bodies, internal teams, and external contractors.
  • Continuously evaluate potential hazards and devise strategies to eliminate or reduce risks.
  • Prepare and present safety performance reports to management, highlighting trends and suggesting improvements.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar role within the construction industry.
  • Thorough knowledge of Cal-OSHA, OSHA, and DOT regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting safety inspections and investigations.
  • Strong understanding of injury and illness prevention principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively train and mentor others.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities, with a knack for identifying and mitigating potential hazards.
  • Ability to work independently and make informed decisions under pressure.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
  • Certification as a Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent is advantageous.
