Job Title: Japanese-speaking Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Advocate

API Chaya is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Japanese-speaking Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Advocate to join our team. As a key member of our advocacy team, you will provide intensive case management and crisis intervention to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Your expertise in Japanese language and cultural competence will enable you to effectively communicate with and support survivors from diverse backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide culturally relevant and linguistically appropriate case management services to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.
  • Conduct initial screenings and assessments to determine eligibility for API Chaya's advocacy program.
  • Develop and implement individualized case plans to address the unique needs of each survivor.
  • Collaborate with community agencies and service providers to ensure survivors receive comprehensive support and services.
  • Provide education and training to community members, service providers, and law enforcement on issues related to domestic violence and sexual assault.
Requirements:
  • Fluency in Japanese language and cultural competence.
  • Experience working with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.
  • Strong case management and crisis intervention skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
