Job Title: Banquet Server

Join our team at The Colony Palm Beach, a luxury boutique hotel, as a Banquet Server. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will provide exceptional food and beverage service to our guests at banquet, catering, and special event functions.

Job Overview:

As a Banquet Server, you will be responsible for delivering outstanding service to our guests, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded. You will work closely with our culinary team to provide a seamless dining experience, from food preparation to presentation.

Responsibilities:
  1. Maintain complete knowledge of service requirements for assigned functions, including menu selections, floor plans, and special requests.
  2. Attend pre-function meetings to review all information pertinent to set-up and service of group.
  3. Assist with event preparation, set up, and closing, including setting up and packing away tables, tablecloth, glassware, plates, silverware, menus, and buffets.
  4. Polish glasses and silverware, fold napkins, stock service stations, and properly clean and fill table complements.
  5. Be ready in assigned station at least 15 minutes prior to function start time.
  6. Circulate the room with trays of appetizers and beverages, greet guests as they enter a venue, and assist them with finding their seats.
  7. Provide immediate attention to all guests upon seating, serve water, bread, and butter, and refill glasses as needed.
  8. Take orders and convey special instructions to the kitchen and bar, serve drinks and meals according to service standards and guest orders in a timely and anticipatory manner.
  9. Continuously patrol assigned station, refill water and coffee, remove service items and condiments per standards, and keep assigned station neat, clean, and fully stocked during service.
  10. Observe guests, respond to additional requests, and determine when the meal has been completed.
  11. Remove soiled dishes and use proper in-room clearing and tray break-down procedure, assist in breaking down buffet and handling equipment, and return equipment back in its proper storage place.
  12. Return all food to the kitchen, break down and properly store designated condiments, and promote positive guest relations at all times.
  13. Be familiar with all hotel services and local attractions to respond accurately to any guest inquiry, monitor and handle guest complaints, and notify a manager immediately.
  14. Assist with the final breakdown of function room and clean up, ensuring all department standards are met, and complete all checklists and closing duties in accordance with departmental standards.
  15. Maintain cleanliness of all banquet areas, maintain full knowledge of and comply with food safety and sanitation policies at all times, and adhere to local and government compliance with health and safety regulations to ensure a clean and safe work environment for guests and employees.
  16. Maintain knowledge of all safety and emergency procedures and be aware of accident prevention policies, report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the supervisor or manager, and remain attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests, managers, and fellow employees.
  17. Ensure that the appropriate level of confidentiality and security for all guest and company information is achieved, aiding in creating a feeling of comfort and confidence for guests, and maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing proper uniform and a name tag when working.
  18. Notify Loss Prevention immediately of found items if a guest has departed, and perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
