Position Overview

The Senior Audit Consultant will take charge of supervising engagement teams, crafting audit strategies, and nurturing productive client interactions while effectively communicating with all audit stakeholders. This role demands exceptional communication abilities, adept project management skills, and a comprehensive grasp of auditing and accounting principles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee a team of audit professionals and support personnel, providing the first line of supervision.
  • Spearhead the development of risk-oriented financial statement audit plans.
  • Mentor team members by delegating tasks and offering guidance.
  • Deliver technical expertise to the delivery team in areas such as financial reporting, internal controls, and financial business systems.
  • Review preliminary deliverables from engagement teams, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations and professional standards.
  • Assist senior leadership in business development initiatives and practice management.
  • Promote a client-centric approach throughout the engagement team.
  • Manage project budgets and financial performance metrics.
  • Communicate audit results, risks, and overall progress to relevant stakeholders.
Essential Qualifications
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Secret Clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in DoD financial statement audits and/or financial management.
  • At least 2 years of management or leadership experience.
  • Familiarity with Government Auditing Standards and Federal audit and financial management regulations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proactive self-starter capable of delivering high-quality work with minimal supervision.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management capabilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting as well as work independently.
  • Capacity to maintain positive relationships with clients and vendors.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional certification such as CPA, CISA, CIA, CGFM, or CDFM.
  • Experience with Federal Government and/or DoD clients.
  • Proficiency in SAP, Oracle Federal Financials, or similar financial systems.
