Position Overview

The Lead Internal Audit Specialist will report directly to the Senior Director of Internal Audit and will play a vital role within the PAR Technology Audit Team. This individual will regularly collaborate with accounting, finance, and operational teams. Responsibilities include conducting financial, operational, compliance, and SOX assessments in alignment with the internal audit strategy.

Qualifications We Seek

2-5 years of experience in Public Accounting, Internal Audit, or a related disciplineBachelor's Degree in Accounting; CPA, CISA, or CIA preferredThorough knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulations, internal auditing principles, accounting standards, COSO framework, and risk assessment methodologiesCapability to identify risks and controls while evaluating various business processesProficiency in executing internal audits, including planning, developing audit methodologies, and drafting reportsAbility to apply sound business and audit judgment in providing recommendations to managementStrong project management skills and experience in handling multiple projects with diverse team membersExperience in a technology-driven or service-oriented business environmentCapacity to work autonomously and collaboratively, with minimal supervision, while guiding other internal audit team membersExceptional verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective presentations to peers and management

Why Your Role is Essential:

Engage in audit risk evaluation, planning, and scope development, as well as project execution as a key team memberLead selected audit projects, overseeing planning, execution, and closure activities. This includes assessing project status and results, ensuring timely completion, and reviewing work papers and reports.Conduct testing in complex/high-risk areas; ensure timely completion of SOX assessments.Maintain precise risk control matrices and ensure alignment with narrative documentation and testing plans. Identify causes of audit discrepancies and address deficiencies.Ensure quality of work through effective self-review techniques and comprehensive documentation to support audit conclusions.Propose recommendations for process enhancements and efficiencies.Communicate promptly with department management regarding any issues or potential exceptions to foster transparency.Provide control consulting services to management to assist in redesigning efforts that strengthen the control environment.Facilitate management's SOX evaluation by assessing the design and operational effectiveness of documented controls.Collaborate with external auditors and business process owners on audit-related matters.
