Key Responsibilities:
The Nursing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and providing guidance to the nursing staff working with young adults and adolescents.

This role requires adherence to the mission and values of Newport Healthcare, as well as compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations including OHSA, HIPAA, and local, state, and federal laws.


Core Duties:
1. Serve as the primary communication link between the nursing team and the Nursing Manager.


2. Conduct weekly chart audits and promptly address any discrepancies in documentation with the Lead Nurse and Nursing Manager.

3. Participate in the recruitment and onboarding of new nursing staff, as well as in disciplinary actions and corrective measures.

4. Review medication error reports and internal incident reports concerning medications as necessary in collaboration with the Nursing Manager.

5. Engage in performance evaluations alongside the Nursing Manager.

6. Assist the Nursing Manager and Lead Nurse in assigning shift-specific tasks to enhance efficiency and accuracy in patient care.

7. Act as a liaison with the Nursing Manager regarding local pharmacy interactions.

8. Communicate effectively with admissions staff when issues arise.

9. Ensure timely documentation in accordance with established standards.

10. Perform clinical shifts as required.

11. Undertake additional responsibilities as needed based on regional demands.

Qualifications:
Must possess a current RN license in the state of employment and have a minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience.
