Position Description:
The RN Supervisor is tasked with overseeing the delivery of care to residents.
Key responsibilities include assessing resident needs, formulating care plans, administering nursing care, evaluating care effectiveness, and supervising CNAs and other staff in the provision of nursing services.
Qualifications:
Requirements for the Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor:
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in CT.
Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited institution is preferred.
A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in a healthcare setting.
Must possess a current/active CPR certification.
Exhibit the highest level of professionalism while maintaining confidentiality.
Ability to function independently, demonstrating flexibility and personal integrity.
Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor:
Engage in process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing the customer experience, optimizing workflow, and improving the work environment.
Conduct comprehensive assessments of residents upon admission and discharge.
Supervise nursing staff and delegate tasks to LPNs and nursing assistants as necessary.
Provide leadership and guidance to Certified Nursing Assistants and Nurses within the unit.
Ensure that routine nursing care is delivered to meet the daily needs of each resident.
Perform daily rounds to monitor resident care and status.
Implement established nursing policies and procedures, providing education to nursing support staff in accordance with facility guidelines.
Review documentation weekly for accuracy and completeness.
Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to infection control and body mechanics protocols.
Address staffing shortages by coordinating replacement staff.
Monitor infection control, exposure control, and resident care trends to facilitate proactive improvements.
Undertake additional special projects and responsibilities as assigned.
