Rudman & Winchell LLC seeks a seasoned Transactions Attorney to join its Commercial Real Estate and Corporate departments. As a key member of the team, you will specialize in legal matters involving business and commercial transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transaction Expertise: Assist commercial clients with real estate transactions, entity formations, mergers and acquisitions, bank lending, contract drafting, and negotiation.
  • Collaboration: Work seamlessly with peers in other practice areas to provide comprehensive legal services to clients.
  • Ethics and Compliance: Adhere to the ethical requirements set forth by the Rules of Professional Conduct of the state and comply with all firm policies.
  • Client Relations: Maintain positive client relationships and observe confidentiality in client matters.
  • Account Management: Monitor account receivables and ensure timely payment.
  • Matter Management: Review and analyze newly assigned work and existing matters to provide effective legal representation.
  • Document Preparation: Assemble and ensure the accuracy of all correspondence and documents related to legal representation.
  • Research and Analysis: Perform necessary legal research using available resources and formulate well-rounded legal opinions for clients.
  • Status Updates: Communicate regularly with clients regarding the status of matters.

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

  • A Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • An active license to practice law in the state of Maine.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional writing abilities.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • The ability to thrive under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with legal research databases and technology tools.
  • Experience in specific areas of law, such as real estate law and corporate law, is preferred.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with diverse groups of clients, attorneys, and staff.
  • A strong sense of responsibility and accountability.
  • Adaptability, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to travel locally and statewide via private or public conveyance to attend to client needs.
  • The ability to work more than 40 hours per week as necessary.
