Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Paraprofessional to join our team at the Madison-Champaign Educational Service Center. As a Paraprofessional, you will play a vital role in supporting students with autism and intensive behaviors, providing a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work one-on-one with a student, providing individualized support and accommodations as needed.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans.
  • Assist with classroom management, including supervising students during transitions and breaks.
  • Provide emotional support and crisis intervention as needed.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of college or ability to pass the Para Pro exam.
  • Valid ODE Educational Aide Permit (can apply once selected for the position).
  • Experience working with students with autism and intensive behaviors preferred, with training provided to the right individual.
  • Satisfactory results on criminal records checks.
  • Candidate must be credentialed in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) or be able to attend all 4 days of TCI training and pass all TCI assessments.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position, working 7 hours daily, 5 days a week, 188 days a year (prorated). The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment, providing support to students with varying needs.
