Behavior Support Specialist



Champaign Residential Services (CRS) is seeking a skilled Behavior Support Specialist to join our team in Urbana, OH.



The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and coordinating designated behavior programs for individuals with developmental disabilities.



This role requires a proactive and innovative approach to behavior support, emphasizing skill development, individual rights, and quality of life.



The Behavior Support Specialist will maintain relationships with consumers, parents, staff, professionals, and community members to foster cooperation and a willingness to work together for the benefit of the individuals we serve.



Key Responsibilities:




  • Ensure CRS operates under current rules and standards established by the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities and Title XIX Medical Regulations.
  • Maintain awareness of new programming developments in behavior support and integrate them into day-to-day practice.
  • Assist and monitor direct care and professional staff in behavior program implementation and documentation.
  • Provide ongoing monitoring and oversight of designated behavior programs, identifying patterns and discrepancies.
  • Be available to perform all necessary duties to ensure complete implementation of designated behavior plans.
  • Assess and analyze behavior to develop plans, procedures, strategies, or supports.
  • Consult with other professionals as needed regarding individual needs and program progress.
  • Compile and present information to the Behavior Support Committee regarding program progress.
  • Track metrics to ensure continuous improvement.


Qualifications:




  • Hold a valid license issued by the Ohio board of psychology, Ohio counselor, social worker and marriage and family therapist board, or state medical board of Ohio.
  • Or hold a bachelor's or graduate-level degree from an accredited college or university and have at least three years of paid, full-time experience in developing and/or implementing behavioral support and/or risk reduction strategies or plans.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to extract pertinent information from verbal accounts.
  • Ability to work independently, as a team, and make good decisions based on analysis, judgment, and experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
