Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Plumbing and Pipefitting Technology Instructor to join our team at GeorgiaGov. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and delivering lectures and/or lab course material, evaluating students' progress, and maintaining all required documentation and administrative reports.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and deliver lectures and/or lab course material for specified courses.
  • Organize and conduct classes using a variety of learning experiences and activities.
  • Evaluate students' progress in attaining their respective goals and objectives.
  • Communicate students' progress to students and appropriate personnel according to established guidelines.
  • Accurately record pertinent information in students' records as necessary.
  • Prepare and maintain all required documentation and administrative reports to department and college.
  • Comply and submit reports in a timely manner, meeting all GPTC deadlines.
  • Plan and conduct outreach to the business community with the goal to develop partnerships and delivery of college services locally and regionally.
  • Assist in the recruitment and registration of prospective and enrolled students.
  • Maintain workforce and technical knowledge of plumbing and pipefitting training programs, including industry certifications and credentials.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree from a national or regionally accredited college or university in plumbing, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years as a Plumbing Service & Repair Technician in commercial and/or residential plumbing.
  • Must demonstrate excellent written and oral communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to teach morning or evening classes based on program needs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master Plumber's License or a Baccalaureate Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of ten years' experience in the plumbing trade.
  • Journeyman Plumber's License.
  • OSHA trainer certification.
  • Knowledge of Blackboard (Learning Management System).
  • Experience in hybrid and/or virtual instruction or courses.
  • Knowledge of NCCER (National Center for Construction Education and Research) plumbing curriculum and standards.
  • Experience in teaching/advising/mentoring college-level students with broad, diverse backgrounds.
