About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Service Technician IV to join our team at Johnson Controls International. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing installed fire alarm and life safety systems, including panel repair and reprogramming, device replacement and repair, and system testing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair complex fire alarm and life safety systems, including SimplexGrinnell systems
  • Read and interpret blueprints, submittals, and operational manuals to ensure accurate and efficient service
  • Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with customers and district staff to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Complete service acknowledgements and obtain customer signatures upon completion of service calls
  • Participate in on-call rotation and help train or mentor others on the service team
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 4+ years documented experience in low voltage electrical systems, including fire alarm and life safety systems
  • Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and operational manuals
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and perform physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs
  • Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, such as climbing ladders and working within ducts and crawl spaces
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, to meet customer requirements
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service and maintain truck inventory to ensure timely response to customer needs
  • Ability to adhere to and implement safety guidelines and procedures
  • Possess a valid driver's license and driving record that meets company requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • NICET Level II certification
