Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Vice President of Human Resources to support multiple Assisted Living, Independent Living, and Memory Care locations across six states. The role will be based in our home office in Wichita, Kansas, with some travel required (approximately 10%-20%).
About the Role
This strategic position will lead human resources initiatives, including associate satisfaction surveys, performance evaluations, HRIS upgrades, and workers' compensation administration. You will establish trust and credibility with all levels of the organization, from officers to entry-level associates.
Responsibilities
- Communications and Employee Relations: Work with company leadership to effectively communicate expectations and directions across all levels of the organization. Assist managers in resolving HR-related issues and establish trust with all employees.
- Project Management: Develop action plans to implement HR initiatives, including associate satisfaction surveys and performance evaluations.
- Workers' Compensation: Monitor and assist with workers' compensation and occupational injury administration.
- Legal and Compliance: Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, particularly regarding unemployment, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the Family and Medical Leave Act.
- Written Communications: Develop policies, procedures, job descriptions, appraisals, corrective actions, and reports using strong verbal and written skills.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- At least 10 years of experience in human resources, with a background in legal areas such as workers' compensation, benefits, government requirements, and writing documents and policies.
- Previous supervisory experience is essential.
- A Bachelor's degree is required.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment law across multiple states and locations, as well as wage and salary laws and regulations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite and desktop publishing.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
- Highly professional and able to maintain confidentiality.
- Experience in strategic planning and execution, including contracting, negotiating, and reviewing contracts and benefit proposals.

Estimated Salary Range: $120,000 - $160,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. This estimate is based on industry standards for similar positions in Wichita, Kansas.
