Objective:

As a vital member of the multidisciplinary Patient Care Team, you will contribute your nutrition expertise and education to cater to the diverse needs of our patient population.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a bridge between patient food services and clinical nutrition to enhance patient care and satisfaction.
  • Proactively identify and resolve food and nutrition service issues, anticipating potential challenges and implementing effective solutions.
  • Support the education, mentoring, and training of dietetic students/interns and new team members.
  • Edit menus accurately based on dietary orders, preferences, age-specific requirements, and the Diet Manual guidelines when necessary.
  • Assume the responsibilities of the Diet Clerk as needed.
  • Deliver ongoing direct patient care, including nutrition assessments, planning, and evaluating outcomes.
  • Provide essential nutrition education tailored to the learning needs and abilities of patients and their families.
  • Engage in department-based Quality Process Improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with patients to design menus and nourishments that align with individual nutrition care needs, dietary orders, preferences, and allergies/intolerances, prioritizing patient satisfaction.
  • Conduct nutrition screenings and accurately assess nutrition risk levels based on established criteria.
  • Possess an Associate degree in dietetic technology or a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition/Dietetics (completion of a dietetics tract is required).
  • Preferred experience of 1 year in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrate analytical skills for assessing, planning, and evaluating outcomes.
  • Exhibit interpersonal skills to effectively engage with a diverse population and collaborate within a team environment.
  • Maintain a strong knowledge base of dietary practices and medical nutrition therapies.
  • Possess sound nutrition education and counseling abilities. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: For those with an Associate Degree, CDR registration is required within 6 months of hire.
  • Act 34 clearance is necessary.
