About the Role

Zepf Center is seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Mobile Response and Stabilization Services (MRSS) team, you will play a critical role in providing safety assessments, de-escalation, peer support, and skill building to individuals and families in need.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough triage and intake interviews with clients and referral sources to assess their needs and develop effective intervention plans.
  • Provide in-home crisis stabilization services, parenting education, counseling, community resource referrals, and other social services interventions to youth and families.
  • Complete comprehensive counseling and social work assessments, mental status exams, and social histories to inform treatment plans.
  • Coordinate and monitor services for youth and families in the community, including mental health, medical, educational, psychological, vocational, and social services.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans that address the unique needs of each client.
  • Provide linkage to case management and services to ensure seamless support for clients.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and appropriate clinical records to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Respond promptly to crisis situations, working collaboratively with emergency personnel to resolve issues and provide support to clients.
  • Initiate and develop prevention strategies to address the root causes of crisis situations.
  • Perform crisis follow-up as needed to ensure ongoing support and stability for clients.
  • Maintain timely and complete documentation of services and activities, adhering to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a relevant field, such as social work or counseling.
  • 2 years of crisis intervention experience, with a focus on mental health and social services.
  • Valid Ohio driver's license and eligibility to drive company vehicles.
  • Ability to work outside normal business hours and perform emergency overtime as needed.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of community resources and ability to connect clients with relevant services.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of self-care and manage stress in a fast-paced, crisis response environment.
