Position Overview: Under the supervision of a radiologist, the Radiologic Imaging Specialist performs intricate professional procedures essential for patient diagnosis and treatment. This role involves obtaining high-quality images that are analyzed by a radiologist to assess diseases or abnormalities. The specialist also assists radiologists or other medical staff in conducting diagnostic radiologic procedures as needed.

Qualifications: Candidates must have completed formal training in radiologic technology from an AMA-approved institution. They should meet the requirements for ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) registry and hold an active state license or be eligible for registry and state licensure.

Note: Continued employment for registry-eligible hires is contingent upon passing the registry examination and obtaining the necessary state licensure.

Skills Required: The ideal candidate must maintain accurate records and adapt to new methods, techniques, and equipment. CPR certification is mandatory. The ability to manage stressful situations and meet deadlines in a fast-paced medical environment is essential.

Physical requirements include the ability to navigate the facility, perform tasks involving stooping, standing, walking, and lifting as necessary.

Communication: Effective communication skills are crucial for understanding directions, responding to inquiries, and utilizing facility communication systems and equipment (e.g., phones, fax machines, IBEX).

Additionally, candidates must be capable of inputting and retrieving information from computer systems and tolerate potential exposure to processing chemicals, radiation, electrical hazards, and bloodborne pathogens.
