Sanitation Specialist

The primary objective of this role is to execute sanitation and cleaning tasks throughout the facility. This position is integral to upholding the Mission and Motto, as well as the Food Safety and Quality Statement of Mennel Milling Company.

Assigned shifts with potential for overtime as necessary.

Adhere to all food and personal safety regulations, including GMP's, OSHA, HACCP, and the Global Food Safety Initiative, as outlined in the FS&Q Statement, along with sanitation protocols established by the company as per Corporate Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) guidelines. Attendance at all mandatory training sessions is required.

Maintain the department and facility in a constant state of readiness for audits. Operate all equipment safely and ensure cleanliness in designated areas.

• Remove flour accumulation and vacuum as needed.
• Ensure cleanliness of break rooms, restrooms, and other assigned spaces.
• Empty all waste and recycling containers.
• Operate relevant equipment (e.g., straight truck, pallet jack).

Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

This position does not include supervisory duties.

• The following qualifications are essential for this role:

A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent is required. The ability to adapt to sudden changes in plans is essential. Strong communication skills are necessary for effective interaction with all organizational levels.

Capability to learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities is expected.

• Ability to read and understand simple instructions, brief correspondence, memos, procedures, and plans. Competence in writing checklists and basic documentation is required. Must effectively present information in one-on-one and small group settings.

Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations in various units of measure, including whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

• Must demonstrate sound judgment in decision-making and possess the ability to quickly recognize and adapt to changing work duties and events.

• The physical requirements of this position include:

Regularly standing, walking, using hands for maintenance tasks, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, twisting, crouching, or crawling, and communicating effectively.

Occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds or more is required. Specific vision abilities necessary for this role include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

The work environment is dynamic and may involve exposure to various conditions.
