This position provides outreach to former and current Indian River State College students to facilitate completion of degree requirements. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with college departments to support students' completion needs, including Academic Advising, Financial Aid, and IRSC academic departments.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with Student Success and campus partners to analyze and interpret student retention and completion data to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Assist current students with course registrations and completions.
- Support degree completion through degree audit reviews, student monitoring and tracking, and similar strategies.
- Assess and address student needs through effective, supportive, and respectful communication.
- Provide guidance, intervention, and direction necessary to keep students progressing through to completion.
- Research and disseminate information on effective completion strategies.
- Maintain accurate records and documents student progression activities.
- Partner with Student Success staff and campus partners to provide Reach Out services to enhance student retention and completion.
This position plays a critical role in supporting student success and completion at Indian River State College. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on students' lives and contribute to the college's mission of providing high-quality education and services.
Requirements:- Bachelor's degree.
- Minimum two (2) years of work experience in leading, developing, and implementing strategies to enhance student success.
- Proven judgment, follow-up, and organizational capabilities.
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to identify and address student issues and barriers to success.
- Demonstrate expertise in the use of technology to assist in tracking and retaining students through to completion.
- Strong relationship-building attributes such as empathy, concern, and commitment to student success.
- Ability to work independently, multi-task, and be self-motivated.
- Ability to navigate the Internet for research and resources relative to student success and completion.
- Ability to review data to identify gaps to enhance student completion strategies.
- Knowledge of FERPA.
- Knowledge of technological systems, social media, and similar tools.
This position requires an ability to sit, stand for long periods of time, walk, bend, lift, reach up, stoop, and carry items occasionally in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds. It also requires manual dexterity to operate standard office machines, such as, copier, fax, telephone, and other equipment as necessary.
