As a key member of our Plant Quality Assurance and Food Safety Department, you will be responsible for coordinating and supporting all functions within the department, overseeing the auditing of QA programs, and ensuring compliance with regulatory directives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure seamless interface with other support groups to achieve operational goals.
  • Maintain compliance with state, federal, and local regulations.
  • Supervise microbiology laboratory and interpret results, ensuring lab safety.
  • Coordinate plant and laboratory equipment calibration and certification programs.
  • Develop and maintain systems for checking and verifying process compliance.
  • Investigate out-of-specification results and identify potential sources.
  • Support environmental programs, corrective actions, and process investigations.
  • Validate processes and procedures to ensure food safety.
  • Respond to customer complaints and product information requests.
  • Support customer and QA system audits.
  • Analyze data trends to improve processes and controls.
  • Train personnel in Quality Assurance and Food Safety programs.
  • Lead by example and promote a Food Safety Culture within the team.
  • Supervise QA technicians and Micro Technicians in monitoring and testing ingredients and finished products.
  • Maintain records and distribute analysis information.
  • Execute programs, communicate effectively, and anticipate/react to problems to minimize product loss or deviations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (e.g., food science, chemistry, biology, or microbiology).
  • 3+ years of related experience and/or training.
  • Knowledge of HACCP programs and FDA regulations.
  • Basic knowledge of the budget process.
