Patient Care Technician

At Virtua Health, we strive to provide exceptional care to our patients. As a Patient Care Technician in our Emergency Department, you will play a vital role in supporting our healthcare team and ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Under the direction of a Registered Nurse or LPN, you will assist with patients' activities of daily living and plan of care. You will communicate effectively with the healthcare team, patients, and their families to provide personalized care and support.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with patients' activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Supporting the healthcare team with vital signs, point of care testing, and other technical duties
- Communicating with patients and their families to provide education and support
- Participating in performance improvement activities to enhance patient care
To be successful in this role, you will need to have successfully completed a PCT course, a fundamentals nursing course in an RN program, or have worked an equivalent of 1 year of direct patient care. Phlebotomy training/education is required for Emergency Department positions.
