Job Title: Principal Communications Engineer/Sr. Principal Communications Engineer

Northrop Grumman is seeking a highly skilled Principal Communications Engineer/Sr. Principal Communications Engineer to join our team in Melbourne, FL. As a key member of our Aeronautics Systems sector, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, configuring, testing, documenting, and troubleshooting communications systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Integration of airborne communications systems and components to enable real-time coordination and reliable communication between ground, air, space, and naval forces
  • Requirements development, analysis, maturation, and implementation
  • Design, analyze, configure, test, document, and troubleshoot communications systems
  • Document designs using detailed schematics, diagrams, and specifications
  • Collaborate with engineers and program stakeholders to integrate voice, encryption, and infrastructure subsystems to meet platform mission objectives
  • Technical management of program strategic partners and suppliers, including development, acquisition, acceptance, qualification, system integration, and test support
  • Perform informal and formal testing of subsystem requirements
Requirements:
  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Master's degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university and 3 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Ph.D. and 0 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering
  • Must have an active DoD Secret clearance that is in-scope (granted or renewed within the last 6 years)
  • Ability to obtain Top Secret clearance (needed to start)
  • Experience with integration of COTS electronics into military systems
  • Experience with system modeling and requirements management tools (Cameo, DOORS, Rhapsody, etc.), developing/maturing requirements, and tracing requirements through various levels
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with cryptographic implementations for airborne military communications subsystems
  • Experience with airborne communications infrastructure and equipment
  • Experience with voice, military, and network waveforms
  • Experience with VoIP implementations, protocols, and equipment
  • Experience with aircraft intercommunication systems (ICS)
  • Experience with system modeling and requirements management tools (Cameo, DOORS, Rhapsody, etc.), developing/maturing requirements, and tracing requirements through various levels
  • Experience with Earned Value Management
  • Experience with supplier/subcontract management
  • An active Top Secret clearance
Salary Range:

$92,600 - $139,000
