Job Title: Principal Communications Engineer/Sr. Principal Communications Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Communications Engineer/Sr. Principal Communications Engineer to join our team at Northrop Grumman. This role will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and integrating airborne communications systems and components to enable real-time coordination and reliable communication between ground, air, space, and naval forces.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Integration of airborne communications systems and components
  • Requirements development, analysis, maturation, and implementation
  • Design, analysis, configuration, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting of communications systems
  • Collaboration with engineers and program stakeholders to integrate voice, encryption, and infrastructure subsystems to meet platform mission objectives
  • Technical management of program strategic partners and suppliers
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Master's degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university and 3 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Ph.D. and 0 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering
  • Active DoD Secret clearance that is in-scope (granted or renewed within the last 6 years)
  • Ability to obtain Top Secret clearance (needed to start)
  • Experience with integration of COTS electronics into military systems
  • Experience with system modeling and requirements management tools (Cameo, DOORS, Rhapsody, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with cryptographic implementations for airborne military communications subsystems
  • Experience with airborne communications infrastructure and equipment
  • Experience with voice, military, and network waveforms
  • Experience with VoIP implementations, protocols, and equipment
  • Experience with aircraft intercommunication systems (ICS)
  • Experience with system modeling and requirements management tools (Cameo, DOORS, Rhapsody, etc.)
  • Experience with Earned Value Management
  • Experience with supplier/subcontract management

Salary Range: $92,600 - $139,000

Salary Range 2: $114,900 - $172,300

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
