Position Overview

The Philanthropy Engagement Specialist plays a vital role in the Development program at Catholic Social Services of Washtenaw County. This position is responsible for enhancing donor relations through meticulous management of donor records, effective communication with supporters and community partners, and orchestrating impactful donor and stakeholder events.

This team member will work closely with the Director of Development and the President and CEO to support all fundraising initiatives and development activities. The role not only focuses on nurturing existing donor relationships but also emphasizes the importance of establishing connections with new donors, local Parishes, community partners, and other essential stakeholders to boost the Agency's visibility and financial support.

Qualifications: A background in Philanthropy, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field is highly preferred. Candidates should possess a minimum of three years of successful experience in philanthropy and community relations, particularly in communications, event planning, and grant writing, ideally within a philanthropic or human services context.

Key Skills Required:

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Strong public speaking skills.
  • Proficiency in utilizing social media platforms.
  • Advanced technological skills, particularly with internet-based platforms, including donor database management (DonorPerfect).
