Responsibilities and Duties of the Grant Accountant:
  • Managing financial systems, preparing reports, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Assisting in the development, revision, and reporting of budgets.
  • Handling the processing and distribution of funds to grantees.
  • Completing monthly bank reconciliations and keeping accurate bank records.
  • Ensuring adherence to contract terms and accounting policies.
  • Creating monthly reports comparing budgeted amounts to actual expenditures.
  • Identifying and addressing issues, and communicating them to program officers and the Grants Compliance Manager.
  • Following established policies and ensuring staff under supervision do the same.
  • Keeping up to date with federal, state, local, and district statutes, policies, regulations, and procedures.
Experience Preferred of the Grant Accountant:
  • Bachelors in Accounting or Finance
  • Experience in Excel (macros, pivot table, Xlookup, indirect, index, etc)
  • 1-2 years Grant Accounting
  • GAAP
