Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our team at Family Farm and Home. As a key member of our store management team, you will be responsible for managing the store in the absence of the store manager and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Store Operations: Assist the store manager in maintaining a highly motivated team by hiring, coaching, counseling, disciplining, and firing team members; planning, monitoring, and evaluating job results.
  • Customer Service: Promote an aggressive sales culture with an intense focus on superior customer service and identify current and future customer requirements by establishing rapport with actual and potential customers.
  • Inventory Management: Verify merchandise is received, stored, and merchandised in all departments according to established operational and safety procedures and maintain a highly organized and efficient inventory management system.
  • Financial Management: Assist the store manager in the preparation of an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions and achieving financial objectives.
  • Team Management: Assist the store manager in maintaining consistent operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing operational and personnel policies and procedures and provide feedback to the office, i.e., buyers, district managers, and all other company officials.
Requirements
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrate excellent leadership and problem-solving skills and be able to manage with limited supervision.
  • Communication Skills: Possess good oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with customers, vendors, and other associates.
  • Customer Service Skills: Understand aggressive customer service and be team-oriented.
  • Management Skills: Have good management and organizational skills and be able to understand and interpret data presented in statistical or numerical form.
  • Physical Demands: Be able to stand for extended periods of time, move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store, climb up and down ladders, reach, bend, twist, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position that requires a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to multitask effectively.
