We are seeking a skilled Hotel Engineer II to join our team at Marriott International. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our hotel's mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems.
Key Responsibilities- Respond to and resolve guest repair requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Communicate effectively with guests and colleagues to resolve maintenance issues.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning and lubrication of tools and equipment.
- Conduct visual inspections of tools, equipment, and machines to identify potential issues.
- Carry out tasks that require physical effort, including lifting and moving equipment.
- Identify and operate shut-off valves for equipment and buildings.
- Maintain inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
- Communicate daily activities and problems to other shifts using approved communication programs.
- Display proficiency in one or more of the following categories: air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finish skills, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and/or general building management.
- Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment, including pumps, motors, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Program TVs and perform general housekeeping and engineering-related duties.
- Assist with surface preparation and painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, light bulb and A/C filter replacement, and thorough cleanup of the painting or repair area.
- Use the Lockout/Tagout system before performing any maintenance work.
- Work with engineering computer programs related to preventative maintenance, energy management, and other systems.
- Perform mid-level troubleshooting of hotel MEP systems.
- Train and mentor other engineers.
- Perform Engineer on Duty responsibilities, including readings and rounds.
- High school diploma or equivalent and vocational or technical background.
- At least 2 years of hotel engineering/maintenance experience.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification.
- Meet applicable state and federal certification and/or licensing requirements.
We offer a competitive salary range of $28.00 to $28.00 per hour, as well as a range of benefits, including health care benefits, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, earned paid time off and/or sick leave, life insurance, disability coverage, and other life and work wellness benefits.
