Job OverviewPosition: Quality Assurance Technician

Are you dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of food safety and quality? In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring that our products adhere to both regulatory and internal quality standards. Working directly on the production floor, your keen attention to detail and collaborative spirit will be essential in monitoring product quality, machinery, and overall plant conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough pre-operational inspections to ensure compliance.
  • Maintain sanitary operations and uphold employee Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Monitor product and cooler temperature parameters to ensure safety.
  • Perform label and weight verifications for accuracy.
  • Verify the reliability of metal detection systems.
  • Assess various sanitizer and chemical strengths.
  • Audit multiple departments to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Conduct basic sensory evaluations of products.
  • Ensure all customer specifications are consistently met.
  • Input key performance data into spreadsheets for analysis.
  • Engage in validation studies to comply with FSMA regulations.
  • Participate as a team member in HACCP/Food Safety Plan initiatives.

Required Skills:

  • Proficient in reading and understanding procedures and policies in English.
  • Ability to lift and carry weights up to 40 pounds.
  • Capable of working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong multitasking abilities.
  • Willingness to undertake special projects as assigned by the QA Manager.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Bilingual skills are preferred but not mandatory.

Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of experience in food production or quality assurance roles.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite is necessary.
  • Prior experience with environmental monitoring is advantageous but not essential.
  • HACCP experience is a plus but not required.
