Clinical Nurse II: Progressive Critical Care Specialist

The Albany Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse II to join our Progressive Critical Care Unit. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities- Assess, coordinate, plan, direct, implement, and manage the needs of assigned patients throughout the episode of care with a focus on progress toward discharge.
- Deliver and coordinate patient care provided by the caregiving team, ensuring competent and compassionate care is uniformly provided to customers.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and implement patient care plans, ensuring effective communication and coordination among team members.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, applying knowledge of quality concepts, principles, and problem-solving tools and techniques to support departmental and patient care quality improvement.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams, promoting a culture of respect, empathy, and open communication.
- Graduate of a professional academic nursing program in which a Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree is conferred.
- Must hold current NYS Registered Nurse license.
- Obtains and maintains certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Excellent communication, prioritization, organizational, and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask physically and mentally.
- Possesses knowledge of quality concepts, principles, and problem-solving tools and techniques, and demonstrates the ability to apply in support of departmental and patient care quality improvement.
