Job Description

Peraton is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating all activities associated with creating software across multiple functional areas and products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement software solutions that meet the needs of our customers, including senior management, data scientists, and end users.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize and allocate projects, products, and resources.
  • Participate in strategic decisions about technology, definition, and implementation of software products.
  • Make employment decisions, such as hiring and rewarding, to ensure the success of our team.
  • Direct software development projects to ensure timely completion and adherence to quality standards.
  • Organize projects through development of a project plan, including communication of product goals, definition of project strategy, and identification of risks and contingency plans.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree; 6 years with a Master's degree; 3 years with a Ph.D.; or 10 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Knowledge of NiFi and NiFi clusters.
  • Understanding of microservices and their use within a distributed architecture.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to mentor and coach teammates.
  • Ability to collaboratively interact with customers, including senior management, data scientists, and end users.
  • TS/SCI with poly.
Desired Qualifications
  • Understanding of containerization and orchestration tools such as K8s.
  • Decomposing functional requirements into technical specifications and tasks.
  • Software development and maintenance using tools and languages such as Java, SQL, JavaScript libraries, HTML, XML, Python, Spark, etc.
  • Developing APIs and web services for integration between systems and services.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies.
  • Experience with SecDevOps processes.
  • Designing and delivering software solutions for the Sponsor.
  • Supporting and leading software security accreditation processes, developing required artifacts, coordinating with sponsor infosec, implementing security requirements and remediations.
  • Knowledge of automation tools such as Python, Powershell, Terraform, Ansible.
  • Experience with development in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud.

Target Salary Range

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
