Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Modeling: Develop new and modify existing data models to support business needs and technical requirements.
  • Business Analysis: Assess and make recommendations regarding business needs of our partners and stakeholders.
  • Technical Research: Research and evaluate technical aspects of IT systems with respect to data handling and analysis capabilities and constraints.
  • User Experience: Research and evaluate user experience related to data models and methods employed by downstream IT systems.
  • Data Structure Development: Develop formal data structures for broadest use possible through evaluation and assessment of business needs, technical IT capabilities and constraints, and user methods/experience.
  • Technical Requirements: Identify technical requirements for implementing data models, integrate them with providers of data, and make the models available to consumers.
  • Data Modeling Products: Use data modeling products, including diagrams, ontologies, and crosswalks, to develop sustainable and scalable solutions to facilitate integration between systems.
  • Enterprise Data Engineering: Support the design, development, and testing of enterprise data engineering components that depend on and/or are depended on by our systems.
  • Data Model Structures: Develop or modify data model structures that can be used more broadly across multiple partners.
Qualifications
  • Education: Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD; 10 years in lieu of a degree.
  • Expertise: Expert knowledge of data modeling and data modeling tools.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills to work across organizational boundaries.
  • Collaboration: Ability to collaboratively interact with customers, including senior management, ETL software engineers, data scientists, and end users.
  • Clearance: TS/SCI with poly.
Desired Qualifications
  • Data Integrity: A solid grasp of data integrity, quality, and the basics of data security.
  • IT Infrastructure: Knowledge of IT infrastructure capabilities and constraints.
  • Data Architecture: Strong command of data architecture principles and ability to design scalable and flexible data models that can adapt to changing business needs.
  • Advanced SQL: Skills in advanced SQL, including query tuning and optimization.
  • Data Warehousing: Understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
