The ideal candidate will collaborate with the Sponsor, Data Layer engineering teams, fellow architects, and various departmental teams to design and architect data layer solutions that effectively balance mission objectives, technical specifications, and security protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with technical teams, fellow architects, analytic stakeholders, and management to architect, design, and oversee the development and deployment of data layer solutions.
  • Ensure the data layer solution is continuously optimized to meet analytic mission requirements efficiently and promptly.
  • Develop and document architectural guidelines, interface designs, and other essential documentation for data layer engineering teams.
  • Evaluate the feasibility of software system designs and ensure alignment with established mission requirements and security standards.
  • Analyze, define, and document requirements for data flows, processes, hardware and software environments, network connectivity, system interfaces, and security measures.
  • Communicate technical assessments, proposals, and alternatives to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior management.
  • Supervise the design and development of custom solutions or evaluate, select, and implement commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) solutions.
  • Monitor current and emerging technologies and industry trends to provide technical recommendations to senior management and technical teams.
  • Engage in the design, programming, development, and modification of software systems and tools, both existing and potentially new in the future.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience leading complex data architecture projects.
  • Proficient in technologies such as Oracle, Hadoop, Elasticsearch, SQL, Java, and Linux.
  • Over 15 years of relevant experience in Information Technology.
  • Significant hands-on experience in data parsing and development with the required technologies.
  • Strong understanding of the complete data lifecycle in Big Data environments.
  • Proven ability to diagnose, isolate, and resolve complex issues related to data, security, engineering, and architecture in large-scale mission environments.
  • Familiarity with standards and data challenges in large enterprise environments.
  • Exceptional skills in managing competing priorities and communicating with multiple stakeholders.
  • High School Diploma or GED.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of various data management, content management, and knowledge management solutions.
  • Experience with AWS in relevant environments.

Clearance Requirements:

  • TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to use hands to operate a computer and other office equipment.
  • Occasionally move about the office to access file cabinets and office machinery.
  • Must be able to remain stationary for 50% of the time.
  • Frequent communication with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
