About the Job

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Nurse Assistant to join our Hospice Buffalo team. This role is perfect for individuals who are dedicated to providing high-quality care and support to patients and their families.

Job Summary

The Certified Nurse Assistant will work in a supportive relationship with professional disciplines, assisting in the care of individuals in long-term care and assisted living/developmentally disabled facilities. Under the supervision of a nurse or other professional personnel, you will perform personal care procedures, health-related tasks, and other homemaking and housekeeping activities to maintain or achieve the patient's optimal level of health.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with appropriate hygiene and grooming inclusive of bathing, hair shampoo, nail & skin care; oral hygiene; toileting/assistance with elimination; taking vital signs, and weights.
  • Assist with health-related tasks and personal care procedures.
  • Assist with activities of daily living.
  • Feed the patient if necessary. Understands adequate nutrition and fluid intake.
  • Demonstrate effective observation and reporting skills.
  • Maintain high-level confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA law and policy.
  • Identify and report patient clinical changes and/or body function changes appropriately to RN Case Manager.
Requirements
  • Completion of a NY State-approved Certified Nurse Aide training program with CNA Certificate and/or Home Health Care training program with a Home Health Aide Certificate.
  • High school diploma, GED preferred.
  • Certification in Hospice and Palliative Care encouraged.
  • Must have current Driver's License, free of any serious violations, and vehicle required for position.
Working Conditions

This is a traveling position working full-time days, Monday-Friday. You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining good interpersonal relationships with hospice patients, families, healthcare personnel, and the entire hospice staff and volunteers.

Salary Information

We offer a competitive salary range of $40,000-$60,000 per year, depending on experience.
