Job Summary
Yale New Haven Health is seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician to join our team. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, you will engage in selected tasks and activities to obtain and report information to assist in the assessment, planning, and evaluation of patient needs.
- You will perform technical duties and selected treatments, procedures, and activities that contribute to safe and efficient delivery of patient care.
- Effectively assist in the care of patients with consideration for the safety of key populations.
- Collaborate with members of the multidisciplinary team to address patient/family needs, taking into account cultural and/or individual diversity.
- Communicate and interact with patients, families, and staff in a professional and effective manner.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- CNA or other educational equivalent (e.g., Medical Assistant, CPCT, EMT, student nurse from an accredited program, LPN)
- CT CNA certification, EMT, student nurse from an accredited program, or LPN
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) training
Working Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. They are also required to stand and walk. They must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
