About the Role

Altana is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accounting Lead to join our team in New York City. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for implementing tools and systems to transform our Accounting function, leading month-end close and tax reporting requirements, and driving process efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement Accounting Tools and Systems: Design and implement new accounting tools and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Lead Month-End Close and Tax Reporting: Oversee the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, and lead tax reporting requirements.
  • Implement P2P and Credit Card Solutions: Lead the implementation of Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) and Credit Card solutions to streamline financial processes.
  • Contribute to Netsuite Transition: Collaborate with the team to transition to Netsuite, ensuring a smooth and successful implementation.
  • Lead Financial Statement Audit and IPO Readiness: Lead the Financial Statement Audit process and contribute to IPO readiness workstreams.
  • Build Internal Controls: Develop and maintain a robust system of internal controls to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare Financial Reports: Prepare monthly Profit and Loss (P&L) statements and variance analysis with insightful comments for senior management review.
  • Consolidate Financial Data: Own the monthly consolidation of domestic and international subsidiary general ledgers in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Drive Process Efficiencies: Identify and implement process improvements to reduce close timelines and improve overall efficiency.
Requirements
  • CPA with Big 4 and In-House Experience: Possess a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification with experience in Big 4 and in-house accounting.
  • 3-6+ Years of Accounting Experience: Have 3-6+ years of experience in accounting, preferably 2 years in industry-side at a software company.
  • IPO Exposure and Experience: Have experience with Initial Public Offering (IPO) processes and procedures.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Related Discipline: Hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Netsuite Experience: Possess experience with Netsuite.
  • Strong Project Management Skills: Demonstrate strong project management skills, including the ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Possess strong communication skills, including the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
