Position Overview

Kids Place, Inc. is a dedicated non-profit organization focused on providing enriching after-school programs that go beyond mere supervision. We are currently seeking to expand our leadership team by adding two Program Coordinators.

The Program Coordinator at each Kids Place location plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality care and support to the children in our programs. To ensure excellence, the Coordinator must exhibit outstanding communication, organizational, and innovative thinking abilities. This role involves overseeing the staff at the location and implementing the provided curriculum. While this outline highlights the primary responsibilities of a Program Coordinator, the role encompasses a broader range of duties.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Minimum age of 21 years with at least 3 years of experience in childcare.
  • Commitment to pursuing an associate degree, CDA, or higher in a relevant child or education-related field.
  • Proven leadership and management skills with the capacity to mentor staff and foster a positive work environment.
  • Ability to create a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate after-school program.
  • Understanding of child development and best practices in after-school care.
  • Competence in managing challenging behaviors from children, parents, and other situations.
  • Experience in overseeing program billing and financial responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to all state and local regulations regarding childcare.
  • Skilled in building and maintaining relationships with parents and educational staff.
  • Willingness to obtain CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Capability to complete all required annual training and participate in monthly meetings with the administrative team.

Work Schedule and Compensation:

  • This is a full-time, salaried position with a starting salary range based on experience and education ($33,000 - $37,000).
  • Typical working hours during the school year are from 1:00 PM to 6:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Summer hours will vary based on program needs, with shifts such as 7:00 AM - 1:00 PM or 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM. No weekend work is required during the school year or summer.
