Key Responsibilities:
1. **Diagnosis and Treatment:** Independently assess, diagnose, and provide psychiatric treatment to assigned individuals, ensuring a holistic approach to mental health care.
2. **Clinical Supervision:** Offer guidance and supervision to other medical staff and clinicians, fostering a collaborative environment.
3. **Integrated Care:** Ensure that all psychiatric services are seamlessly integrated to support both physical health and recovery.
4. **Medication Management:** Serve as the primary prescriber, utilizing psychopharmacology as a key component of treatment.
5. **Multidisciplinary Collaboration:** Advise and collaborate with residential multi-disciplinary treatment teams to implement effective psychiatric care plans.
Additional Requirements:
- Participate in after-hours and weekend on-call medical consultations on a rotating basis.
- Provide psychiatric care coverage for individuals in transitional housing.
- Assist with physician coverage as needed across various regions.
Minimum Qualifications:
Possession of a valid medical license in New York State and board certification in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Work Environment:
This position requires a commitment to maintaining eligibility for participation in Medicare and Medicaid programs, as continued employment is contingent upon this eligibility.
