Position Summary:

The 777X Production Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily manufacturing processes of the 777X program, managing a growing team of over 15 production specialists. This role is distinctive as it requires leading and coordinating cross-functional teams, including engineers from design, manufacturing, and quality assurance, as well as production control and program management professionals. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in operations, material management, strategic planning, and collaborative teamwork. This position also involves direct interaction with customers and leadership in profit and loss management.

Key Responsibilities:

Management and oversight of front-line manufacturing personnel (approximately 15+ specialists), which includes:
  • Ensuring prompt resolution of operational challenges, keeping stakeholders informed about program progress, and negotiating changes and solutions.
  • Fostering a proactive culture across all business dimensions: Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC).
  • Prioritizing multiple initiatives effectively.
  • Promoting continuous improvement initiatives within the team.
  • Translating strategic priorities into actionable plans at the operational level.
  • Understanding the interdependencies among various cross-functional teams and their impacts.
  • Formulating strategies to meet delivery targets and address challenges without compromising commitments.
  • Facilitating the introduction of new or modified products and managing their procurement and integration into production.
  • Leading Gemba-focused problem-solving efforts to mitigate manufacturing defects (SQDC).
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in Operations, Program Management, Project Management, or Engineering.
  • At least 3 years of experience in Operations, Program Management, Project Management, or Engineering; or completion of a GE Leadership Program.
  • This position requires the use of technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions, and applicants must be U.S. Citizens.
Preferred Attributes:
  • PMP Certification.
  • Familiarity with Government contracting and terminology.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Proven problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading projects and programs.
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs effectively.
  • Established project management expertise.
This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Final offers will be contingent upon obtaining authorization for access to such information from the U.S. Government.
