Position Summary:
The 777X Production Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily manufacturing activities associated with the 777X program, managing a growing team of over 15 production associates. This role requires the ability to lead and coordinate cross-functional teams, including engineers from design, manufacturing, and quality assurance, as well as production control specialists and program management personnel. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in operations, material management, strategic planning, and collaborative teamwork. Additionally, this position involves direct interaction with customers and financial leadership responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Management and oversight of front-line manufacturing personnel (approximately 15+ specialists), which includes:
- Ensuring prompt resolution of operational issues while keeping stakeholders informed about program progress and negotiating necessary changes.
- Fostering a proactive culture across all business categories, including Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC).
- Prioritizing multiple initiatives effectively.
- Driving continuous improvement efforts within the team.
- Translating strategic priorities into actionable plans that impact daily operations.
- Understanding the interdependencies among cross-functional teams and their effects on overall performance.
- Developing strategies to meet delivery commitments and address challenges without delays.
- Facilitating the introduction of new or modified products and managing their delivery to the production floor.
- Leading problem-solving initiatives focused on manufacturing issues to prevent defects (SQDC).
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in Operations, Program Management, Project Management, or Engineering.
- At least 3 years of experience in Operations, Program Management, Project Management, or Engineering; or completion of a GE Leadership Program.
- This position requires the use of technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions; therefore, it is only open to U.S. Citizens.
- PMP Certification.
- Familiarity with government contracting and terminology.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven interpersonal and leadership capabilities.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Experience in leading projects and programs.
- Ability to document, plan, market, and execute initiatives.
- Established project management expertise.
