Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team in Crystal Lake, Illinois.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Ultrasound Technologist to perform high-quality ultrasound procedures and provide exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of ultrasound technology and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform ultrasound procedures using advanced equipment and techniques.
  • Position patients, adjust equipment, and secure immobilization and support devices as needed.
  • Determine appropriate image technique based on anatomy and patient condition to obtain quality films.
  • Assist radiologists with ultrasound procedures, including advanced and specialty procedures.
  • Adhere to all accepted safety standards and practices to ensure patient safety and quality patient care.
  • Coordinate quality control activities, including checking ultrasound films for optimal quality and disseminating exams to ultrasound technologists.
  • Provide instruction and orientation to students, technologists, and new technologists.
  • Participate in problem-solving issues addressing patients, department operations, quality assurance procedures, interdepartmental relationships, and employee morale.
Requirements:
  • Graduate from an accredited AMA School of Sonography.
  • 1 year experience as a Sonographer preferred.
  • Certified by Radiologic Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (RDMS).
  • CPR certification.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Working Conditions:

The Ultrasound Technologist will work in a fast-paced environment with established time constraints. The position may be exposed to hazardous materials and life-threatening diseases. The ability to work independently and make independent professional decisions is essential.

This position requires the ability to lift and/or move patients, with the ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. Patient handling equipment is expected to be used when available.

The Ultrasound Technologist will be responsible for maintaining current CPR certification and RDMS certification.
