Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a key member of our imaging department, you will be responsible for performing high-quality ultrasound procedures, providing exceptional patient care, and collaborating with our radiologists to ensure accurate diagnoses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Position patients, adjust equipment, and secure immobilization and support devices as needed to perform procedures.
  • Determine appropriate image technique based on anatomy and patient condition to obtain quality films.
  • Secure patient history and record on appropriate forms for radiologist review.
  • Operate advanced ultrasound equipment, including liver and breast imaging.
  • Assist radiologists with procedures, maintain safety standards, and ensure patient safety and quality care.
  • Perform clerical duties, including maintaining patient records, answering phones, and scheduling examinations.
  • Coordinate quality control activities, including film labeling and quality assurance.
  • Provide instruction and orientation to students, technologists, and new staff members.
  • Participate in problem-solving and contribute to department operations, quality assurance, and employee morale.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited AMA School of Sonography.
  • 1 year of experience as a Sonographer preferred.
  • Certified by Radiologic Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (RDMS).
  • CPR certification.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with established time constraints. You may be exposed to hazardous materials and life-threatening diseases. You must be able to deal with extremely ill patients and demonstrate empathy and compassion.

This role requires the ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance and use patient handling equipment when necessary.
